This course offers an easy and straightforward introduction to the very basics of the Arabic language. As the first year of Ta’leef’s three–year Arabic curriculum, Arabic 1 aims to equip the student with basic conversational skills and the ability to read and write Arabic at a fundamental level. This bi-weekly class will focus on learning the letters of the Arabic alphabet.

In addition to other supplemental materials, this bi-weekly class will utilize Al-Madinah Book 1 from Madinah Islamic University.

ARABIC 2A: GRAMMAR & VOCABULARY

A survey of the fundamental elements of Arabic grammar and general vocabulary essential for the student to attain an elementary comprehension of the Arabic language. Part of Ta’leef’s three–year Arabic curriculum, this course is designed to provide the student with the basic tools necessary to begin reading with understanding the Qur’an and other primary Arabic texts. This bi-weekly class will utilize Al-Madinah Book 2 from Madinah Islamic University, Arabic for English Speaking Students by Rauf, and excerpts from Provisions of the Seekers.
Prerequisite: Students must have completed one year of Arabic or be able to read and write Arabic at a basic level.
