JOB OPPORTUNITY: DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Ta’leef Collective provides the space content & companionship necessary for a healthy understanding, embrace and realization of Islam. We are currently seeking a Development Manager.The Development Manager will be a self-motivated professional with responsibility for designing, managing and executing Ta’leef’s development program including infrastructure, processes and staff to support fundraising aligned with Ta’leef’s strategic plan and annual priorities.
Reporting to The Founding Director, the Development Manager will have the following responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop Ta’leef’s grants program including writing operating support proposals/reports; coordinatingproposal approval process; serving as liaison between Ta’leef and funders; and monitoring all grant-related activity to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
- Design and manage major gifts program to raise funds for restricted gift opportunities, capital projects and endowment.
- Provide operational and administrative leadership for Ta’leef’s fundraising programs; including face-to-face, mail and online solicitation programs.
- Spearhead and manage efforts to engage Board, community, and others within Ta’leef’s network in development activities, particularly to increase giving from individuals.
- Leverage key relationships and contacts within and beyond Ta’leef’s network to contribute to the successful attainment of fundraising and revenue goals.
- Provide assistance to Founding Director in representing Ta’leef locally and nationally to groups, donors and funders through tactical and strategic support.
- Develop online/social media giving strategies, donor recognition strategies and other communications to support fundraising.
- Coordinate with administrative staff to manage seamless gift processing, including pledge reminders, gift acknowledgments, and maintaining accurate donor and gift records.
- Work in coordination with CFO and Bookkeeper to develop annual budget and fundraising budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of successful experience in nonprofit resource development.
- Extraordinary attention to detail and process.
- Excellent interpersonal and team work skills .
- Strong leadership, organization and time management skills.
- Experience with handling highly confidential information.
- Excellent written communication and editing skills.
- Capacity and flexibility to get things done on time and at a high quality level.
- Some travel required.
