Programs & Goals

Convert Continuum Of Care (CCC)

The CCC is a full-scale system providing step-by-step assistance from the point of a seeker’s active interest, until the establishment of sustainable conversion and holistic practice of Islam, while facilitating a smooth integration into the community.  The CCC offers hands on, one-on-one consultation with our professionally trained staff, courses specifically tailored for seekers, and the support network crucial upon conversion.  The program provides assisted enrollment into the Islamic Sciences Curriculum in order to facilitate the completion of their obligatory studies.  The “welcome to the fold” program, an essential part of the CCC, fosters daily, weekly and monthly opportunities for new Muslims to engage their peers, share both challenges and successes, and reap the beneficial fruits that only the tree of good company can bear.  Upon completion of the program, participants are trained to become mentors to other newcomers.  Since its inception, the CCC has assisted over 200 people in embracing Islam.

Project Recollect

Project Recollect is an initiative to reengage those young adults in the Muslim community who have either been marginalized or are simply disengaged.  By providing them a fresh perspective on their faith and the relevant programming essential to their reengagement, PR assists its beneficiaries through the often complex process of re-committing to Islam.  Bolstered by experienced mentorship, PR is a critical stepping stone on the path towards a healthy and sustainable practice of Islam.  Like the CCC, PR serves as a healthy feeder into Ta’leef Collective’s Islamic Sciences Curriculum and other general programming.

Living and Learning

“Living and Learning” is an initiative intended to complement our CCC and PR programs, which seeks to answer the question naturally asked upon embracing Islam: “what’s next?”  Designed to be a unique approach to education, inclusive of the sacred sciences and enriched by an engagement with arts and culture, students embark upon a tailored learning curriculum geared toward a holistic practice of Islam. Toward attaining this goal, we offer the following main courses:

  • Being Muslim, a free weekly class that covers the essential aspects of Islam from the most basic level;
  • Speaking Arabic, an interactive class that covers the essential aspects of reading, writing, and speaking Arabic;
  • Knowing the Prophet, a year long series of classes, covering the life and history of our Prophet and lessons to be taken from his teachings and experiences; and
  • Living Right, a weekly class giving practical and timely advice for anyone seeking the tools and knowledge to progress spiritually. We strive to integrate creative expression into our instruction and dialogue surrounding Islamic practice through a variety of arts & culture workshops.  Historically, these have included workshops in photography, poetry, film-making, and calligraphy by prolific experts in the fields.
